How to Replace a Raw-Water Impeller

1. Find your raw-water impeller. Locate the raw-water intake seacock for your engine. Follow the hose up to the engine impeller housing. Remove the cover plate and gasket.

2. Remove the center-plug. Before you pull out the impeller, note the direction the vanes point. Do they point to the left or right. You must insert the new impeller with the vanes pointed in the same direction!

3. Use two flat-head screwdrivers to pry out the impeller with care. Insert the impeller and center-plug. Then install a new gasket and replace the cover-plate.
